Remarks This species inhabits rivers with rocky substrates composed of stones 1-20 cm in diameter, with larger individuals associated with stones about 45-70 cm in diameter. It also occurs beneath amphibious vegetation along densely vegetated banks and in small tributary streams with clay substrates, abundant riparian organic matter, and fern rhizomes along the margins (Ref. 138851).
