Remarks Occurs from the shallow continental shelf to the upper continental slope (Ref. 1371). Sometimes found off the bottom or in midwater (Ref. 1371). Diet varies with age; opportunistic species feeds mainly on euphausiids during its early years, but later it feeds almost exclusively (98%) on fish (Ref. 10611).
