Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Colombia.
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 68-79. This species is distinguished from its congeners of the E. trilineata species group, by the following characters: premaxillary teeth, 27 in 3-4 rows; simple pectoral rays, ii-iii; suborbital depth, 30-37.7% HL (Ref. 138580).
