| Diagnosis: | Anal soft rays: 171-206. This species is distinguished by the following characters: presence of superior midlateral stripe; subterminal mouth; depth of posterodorsal expansion on infraorbitals 1 + 2 and approximately equal TL of infraorbitals 1 + 2; dentary teeth 35-36; premaxillary teeth 23-29; scale rows above LL 12-15; coronomeckelian bone that corresponds to 25% of length of Meckel's cartilage; origin of the superior midlateral stripe at vertical between the bases of 18th and 30th anal-fin rays; anterior displaced haemal spine, slightly cylindrical; precaudal vertebrae, 14-16; pectoral-fin rays, Ii,14-16; anal-fin rays, 171-206 (Ref. 138581). | |||
