Family:  Fundulidae (Topminnows and killifishes)
Max. size:  8 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Dan (Roanoke), Neuse, Cape Fear, Peedee and Catawba (Santee) River drainages in Virginia and North Carolina, USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults occur usually over sand or mud in backwaters and pools of creeks and small to medium rivers. 9.6 cm max TL (Ref. 5723). Migratory behaviour is undetermined (Ref. 126106). Not a seasonal killifish (Ref. 27139).
