Environment:  demersal; freshwater; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Papua New Guinea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-9; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 9-9; Vertebrae: 25-25. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: 14-15 pectorals rays; a medium body depth at anus (16-21% sL); a great interorbital length (13-15% sL); and 11-12 scales in transverse forward series (Ref. 126456).
