| Biology: | Occurs in vegetation of ponds, lakes, swamps, and in the lower parts of rivers. An omnivorous fish that feeds on small crustaceans and aquatic insects. It is heavily fished in some lakes like Lake Taal in Luzon (Ref. 126456). | |||
