Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: Mayotte, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon, Vanuatu, New Caledonia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 9-9; Vertebrae: 25-25. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: 14 pectorals rays; a medium body depth at anus (21-24% SL); and 10-13 scales around the eye (Ref. 126455).
