| Diagnosis: | Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-6; Anal soft rays: 9-10. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: nasal barbels reaching at least to the anterior orbital margin; head width 16.8%-18.3% SL; head depth 11.6%-12.6% SL; lateral line without short branches visible; length of adipose-fin base 11.6%-13.8% SL; caudal peduncle depth 2.0-2.2 times in body depth at dorsal-fin origin; and a uniformly almost black body (Ref. 138879). | |||
