| Locality | Pacific Ocean off the northeastern tip of Honshu Island, ZIN No. 48390— |
| Distribution | Northwest Pacific: Japan (off the northeastern tip of Honshu Island; possibly also in the eastern coast of Hokkaido, Peter the Great Bay, Sea of Okhotsk in more southern regions); 194 m. |
| Quote | Scaly prickled eelpout; may include specimens from the eastern coast of Hokkaido with well-developed scales, misidentified as K. notabilis (Toyoshima in Masuda et al., 1984. Pl. 358-B; Nakabo, 2002), as well as other records: from Peter the Great Bay (Borets, 1997) and the waters of Japan (Fedorov et al., 2003). It is quite likely that the predominantly Sea of Okhotsk species K. notabilis was replaced by K. squamosa in more southern regions. |
