| Citação | This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: colouration: body with unique greyish to pale chrome yellow, upper half with five bold black-oblique bands horizontally and the lower half with irregular black patches occurring in between the intervals of the five oblique bands, imparting a reticulated pattern; dorsal-fin membrane with three rows of black or brown spots arranged horizontally and caudal-fin membrane alternating with C-shaped black spots arranged transversely in a semi-circular pattern; black semi-circular bands in the pectoral fin; D 33-35; A 22; caudal-fin rays 12; lateral-line scales 43-45; mid-row lateral-line scales 10-13; two large cycloid scales in the underneath of the lower jaw, pre-dorsal scales 6-7 (Ref. 131047). |
