| Citazione | Inhabits coastal areas, primarily around coral reefs to depths of around 40 m. Feeds by picking zooplankton. Schooling, often feeding in large midwater aggregations; commonly schools together with Caesio varilineata, C. striata, and Pterocaesio tile. Moderately important in coastal fisheries. Common in markets in Indonesia and the Philippines. Caught by drive-in nets, gill nets, traps, trawls, and handlines. Marketed fresh and sometimes dried-salted. Juveniles are important as tuna baitfish in some areas. |
