Body tapering, belly rounded in front of pelvic fins, with 11 or 12 + 9 to 11 = 20 to 23 keeled scutes from isthmus to anus. Maxilla short, not reaching beyond edge of gill cover. Pectoral fin with 10 or 11 long filaments and 7 or 8 branched fin rays, much shorter than those of pelvic fin. |
