This species is distinguished by the following characters: absence of P+1 stripe and P stripe expressed as row of spots posteriorly on side and caudal peduncle; it has a deep body 26.5% SL, short caudal peduncle 17.1-20.5% SL, and long anal-fin base 19.0-21.8% SL; a long maxillary barbel 16.6-23.0% SL, reaching to below pectoral-fin base adults; rostral barbel present; lateral line absent; colour pattern consisting of vertical bars or spots anteriorly on side; branched dorsal-fin rays 7½; circumpeduncular scale rows 10 (Ref. 119087). |
