This species, a member of the E. trilineata species-group, is distinguished by the following characters: anal-fin hyaline; absence of enlarged eye. 21.3-25.4% HL; presence of a short caudal filament, 19.2-30.8% LEA; mouth subterminal; lateral line stripe restricted to last two thirds of body; presence of a superior midlateral stripe; A 176-205; scales rows above lateral line 10-15; scales on lateral line 109-125; premaxillary teeth 19-23; dentary teeth 20-29; endopterygoid teeth 6-10; depth of posterodorsal expansion on infraorbitals 1+2 half as long as infraorbitals 1+2 length; basibranchial 1 unossified; precaudal vertebrae 13-14; length of coronomeckelian bone corresponding to 20% of Meckel’s cartilage length (Ref. 138579). |
