This species, a member of the E. trilineata species-group, is distinguished by the following characters: anal-fin hyaline; absence of enlarged eye 16.2-21.3%; caudal filament short, 19.9-36.4 % LEA; no lateral line stripe; no superior midlateral stripe; A 182-228; scales rows above lateral line 12-15; scales on lateral line 107-131; premaxillary teeth 32-34; dentary teeth 35-44; endopterygoid teeth 9-12; depth of posterodorsal expansion on infraorbitals 1+2 half as long as infraorbitals 1+2 length; basibranchial 1 unossified; precaudal vertebrae 13; coronomeckelian bone length corresponding to 20% of length of Meckel’s cartilage (Ref. 138579). |
