This species is distinguished by the following characters: D2 10-13 (modally 11); pored lateral-line scales 11-15; notched lateral-line scales 17-22; scales below the first notched lateral-line scale 2-4 (modally 3); head short, its length 24.7-32.4% of SL; upper jaw short, its length 7.4-11.0% of SL; long and slightly rounded orbital tentacle (its length 76.5% of pupil diameter); double symphyseal mandibular pores (mandibular pore formula 3 + 2 + 3); black area in nuptial males is restricted to the lower half of the head (Ref. 138615). |
