Diagnosis: mouth inferior; lips extremely well-developed; two pairs of well-developed barbels, anterior pair 1-1.3, posterior pair 1.3-2x eye diameter; last simple ray of dorsal fin ossified, measuring 0.5-0.67x HL (Ref. 81639). Description: large species; lips excessively developed, lower lip with large rounded mental lobe; scales longitudinally striated; scale formula: 4.5-5/27-32/4-4.5/2.5/12-14; D: III, 9; A: III, 5-6; lateral line complete; dorsal fin with deeply notched border (Ref. 81639). Coloration: ground color olive-brown dorsally, whitish ventrally; dorsal scales with dark basal marking; fins greyish brown (Ref. 81639). |
