Diagnosis

This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: epibranchial 4; conspicuous median process on parietosupraoccipital; 11 or 13 teeth on median premaxilla; s6 pore paired; opercular odontodes; emarginate caudal fin; dorsal flange on the lateral margin of the autopalatine; fewer ventral procurrent caudal-fin rays; vertebrae 37; five to seven interopercular odontodes (Ref. 138907).
