Diagnosis

This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: body slender, its depth at pelvic-fin origin 3.6 in SL; suborbital very narrow (13.0 in HL), with a small retrorse spine; pectoral-fin rays 14; gill rakers 17; and body salmon pink, spinous portion of dorsal fin with a broad yellow margin (Ref. 138837).
