This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters:D 6-8 (modally 7); A 5-7 (7); pectoral-fin rays 21-22 (22); vertebrae 32-33 (32); in lateral view, upper end of gill membrane in level with 6th to 8th (usually 7th or 8th) pectoral-fin ray base; posterior nostril slightly behind anterior margin of eye; head size moderate, its length 29.8-33.8 (mean 31.7) % SL; disc size moderate, its length 18.1-21.6 (19.9) % SL; caudal peduncle slightly narrowed, its depth 6.2-10.5 (7.8) % SL, 1.7-2.2 in caudal-peduncle length; dorsal- and anal-fin bases short, lengths 10.3-14.6 (12.2) and 9.2-15.6 (12.4) % SL, respectively; pre-dorsal-fin length 68.0-74.2 (71.7) %SL; dorsal-caudal length 26.3-32.0 (28.6) % SL (Ref. 137549). |
