Diagnosis

This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: lateral line complete with 24 scales; pre-dorsal scales 9-10; pre pelvic scales 9-10; circum-peduncular scales 12; lateral transverse scales 5½/4½; barbel one pair; body depth 41.25-45.33% SL; caudal peduncle depth 14.44-16.25% SL; head depth 70.43-73.22% HL; and a distinctive color pattern, i.e., the humeral spot present, a caudal peduncle blotch, and a mid-lateral black band on the dorsal fin (Ref. 138832).
