Diagnosis

This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: anal fin with two dark longitudinal bands, one along the base and another near the margin; dorsal-fin rays 92-96; anal-fin rays 69-73; pseudobranchial filaments 13-22; precaudal vertebrae 14, caudal vertebrae 38-40, total vertebrae 52-54; dorsal-fin origin just above fourth or fifth vertebra; anal-fin origin just below 17th or 18th vertebra; and scale rows between dorsal-fin origin and lateral line 6-8 (Ref. 138973).
