The predorsal area and the base of the pectoral fins are fully covered with scales. In males, the first three rays of the first dorsal fin are significantly elongated. Both the second dorsal fin and the anal fin have nine branched rays each. The pectoral fins have 18-19 rays. It has 26 scales in a longitudinal row and six in a transverse row. The cheek displays a distinct pattern of genipores. |
