Dorsal spines (total): 2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7; Anal spines: 2; Anal soft rays: 5; Vertebrae: 35 - 36. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: opercular odontodes (48-62); interopercular odontodes (92-100); unique colour pattern consisting of a dark brown flank with a longitudinal pale yellow stripe on its dorsal portion; and black bar on the basal portion of the caudal fin present (Ref. 138848).
