Side and dorsum of body with about 15 diffuse dark brown bars separated by 2-3 pale or mottled interspaces; venter of trunk with light brown bar on each ring (Ref. 4281).
Body shape (shape guide): eel-like.
Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205).
