Etymology: Arius: Greek, arios, areios = dealing with Mars, warlike, bellicose (Ref. 45335).

Taxonomic Remarks
Species inquirenda in Ariidae according to Marceniuk & Menezes (2007: Ref. 58022). This species is uncertain in Eschmeyer (CofF ver. Jul. 2010: Ref. 84883) under the same name A. cous Hyrtl 1859. Please send references, or more studies are needed.
