Dorsal spines (total): 9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 7. This species is distinguished by the following characters: luminous gland is long, extending from isthmus to anal-fin base, its length 59.7-60.1% SL; proximal radial of first anal-fin pterygiophore lacking trough or hollow; anus is closer to origin of pelvic fin than to that of anal fin; weakly ctenoid and cycloid scales laterally on body anteriorly; body depth 31.0-33.0% SL, head length 39.6-2.0% SL; orbital diameter 13.0-14.0% SL (Ref. 41631. 123727).
Body shape (shape guide): fusiform / normal; Cross section: compressed.
Collected by trawl and landed in fish markets; apparently found on continental shelf and in nearby waters (Ref. 96184).
