Size / Weight / Age
Inhabits the mountain streams, plain creeks, and main streams of the Minjiang River basin (Ref. 138923). It is a warm temperate small-scale bottom fish, in flowing streams and rivers, mostly moving among rocks and pebbles. It feeds on small fish, aquatic insects, shrimpsand crabs (Ref. 138987). Its striking colouration (two colour types, red and yellow) makes it a popular pet fish (Ref. 138923).
