The contact between the dorsal and adipose fins is also reflected in the longer adipose-fin base in B. feruminatus compared to congeners (39.7-41.6% SL vs. 14.5-35.1). The only other species of Batasion with a longitudinal black stripe on the body are B. batasio and B. macronotus, but both these species lack the black oblique predorsal bar of B. feruminatus. Other species of Batasion in Myanmar with the oblique bar are B. dayi, B. elongatus and B. fluviatilis, but all these species lack the longitudinal black stripe of B. feruminatus (Ref. 74340).
