背棘 (總數) : 1; 背的軟條 (總數) : 6 - 7; 臀鰭軟條: 13 - 17. Posterior nostril barbels reaching rear edge of eyes, maxillary one nearly reaching pectoral fin, posterior barbels on chin reaching branchial membrane and anterior one short; gill opening large and branchial membrane free; skin naked. Last simple ray of pectoral fin hard and strongly serrated on hind margin; ventral fin nearly reaching anal fin and end of caudal fin lightly concave or truncate.
