臀鰭軟條: 9 - 11. Distinguished from its congeners by having posterior extremity of maxilla irregularly serrated; opercle, subopercle, interopercle, cleithrum and postcleithrum serrated. Differs further by the following combination of characters: posterior border of maxilla reaching anterior border of orbit; 4 (occasionally 3) predorsal bones; no supernumerary spine on first dorsal pterygiophore; 4th or 5th dorsal fin spine longest; 15-17 pectoral fin rays; 9-11 anal fin rays; 44-48 caudal fin rays; procurrent spur absent (Ref. 55324).
與它的同類藉著具有不規則地被鋸齒狀的顎骨的在後部末端區分了; 鰓蓋，子鰓蓋，中鰓蓋, 匙骨與後匙骨鋸齒狀的。 在組合特徵之後不同進一步藉由: 顎骨的後緣達到眼窩的前緣; 4(偶然地 3)個前背骨; 沒有在第一背鰭支鰭骨上的額外的棘; 第 4 或第 5根背鰭棘長的; 15-17個胸鰭鰭條; 9-11個臀鰭棘條; 44-48個尾鰭鰭條; 前流的馬刺不存在。 (參考文獻 55324)
