Dorsale stekels (totaal) : 16 - 17; Dorsale zachte stralen (totaal) : 9 - 11; Anale stekels: 3; Anale zachte stralen: 8 - 10; Wervels: 31. Differs from other species of the genus in the structure of the lower pharyngeal bone, which is somewhat inflated posteriorly, with numerous small bicuspid teeth.
Body shape (shape guide): fusiform / normal; Cross section: compressed.
