Cheek naked; opercle naked; central pectoral base usually naked; belly anteriorly naked; breast naked; predorsal midline naked or with few scales anterior to first dorsal fin; body depth of males 16-20% of SL, usually 17-19%; first dorsal fin with two parallel black bands extending basally and medially entire length of fin (Ref. 34009).
