Blenniiformes (Blennies) >
Clinidae (Clinids)
Etymology: Clinus: Greek, klinein, kline = sloping and bed, due to the four apophyses of sphenoid bone (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Helen Evelyn Zondagh (1877–1951) was the author’s mother-in-law. There is absolutely nothing in Smith’s text to help identify who the ‘Helen’ was, whom he intended to commemorate in this fish’s name, so any identification must be speculative. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
