Adults inhabit sand and gravel runs of medium to large rivers but is less often found in sand or mud bottomed pools (Ref. 5723). They feed on aquatic and terrestrial invertebrates (71% of diet) detritus, plant material and sand. Batch spawner (Ref. 79012). Migratory behaviour is undetermined (Ref. 126106).
