North America: disjunct: Cumberland and Tennessee River drainages in Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama, USA; Little, St. Francis and White River drainages in Missouri and Arkansas, USA.

Adults inhabit rocky runs and flowing pools, often near riffles, of clear creeks and small to medium rivers (Ref. 5723, 10294). They feed on terrestrial and surface insects, and immature benthic insects (Ref. 10294). Migratory behaviour is undetermined (Ref. 126106).
