Spine dorsali (totale) : 9; Raggi dorsali molli (totale) : 11; Spine anali: 3; Raggi anali molli: 10; Vertebre: 25. Body brown on top of head and back, shading to salmon-pink below. Distinct from other species with its four to six black spots on caudal fin. Pectoral fins pinkish hyaline, upper base with a diffuse dusky spot; pelvic fins whitish. With four to five predorsal scales; two cheek scale rows behind eye, three below eye. No scaly sheath at base of dorsal and anal fins. Scales large.
