Etymology: Wallago: wallago;Bleeker, in 1851, took the Indian fish name, gave it generic range and used it connection with a new species. The name is "walaga" in Telugu / Tamil (Ref. 45335).

Species inquirenda in Wallago according to Ferraris (2007: Ref. 58032).This species is uncertain in Eschmeyer (CofF ver. Jul. 2010: Ref. 84883), and is placed in Wallago. Please send references, or more studies are needed.
