Facultative air-breathing in the genus (Ref. 126274); Specimens obtained from two rivers, primarily sandy substrates and found in oxygenated waters (5.4-7.4 mg/l) with moderate current.; water turbidity 260-392 NTU, conductivity 543 -2,435 μS/cm, pH 7.8-8.1,and temperature 15.3 - 20.4°C (Ref. 121236).
