Differs from other Cyphocharax (except aspilos) by the absence of multiple series of longitudinal patterns of dark pigmentation on body, the absence of a large spot of pigmentation on the body, the absence of a large spot of pigmentation on the dorsal fin, the absence of a rotund spot or longitudinal stripe of dark pigmentation on the midlateral surface of the caudal peduncle, number of lateral line scales, and the relative depth of the caudal peduncle 0.14-0.16 of SL (Ref. 11334).
有別於其他 Cyphocharax(除了 aspilos 以外) 在身體上的深色顏色的藉由缺少多個成列縱向圖案, 那在身體上缺乏一個顏色的大斑點, 那在背鰭上缺乏一個顏色的大斑點, 那在尾梗的側面中央表面上缺乏一個圓的斑點或深色顏色的縱向斑紋, 側線鱗片的數字 , 與 SL 的尾梗 0.14-0.16 的相關深度.(參考文獻 11334)
