背的軟條 (總數) : 14 - 18; 臀鰭軟條: 18 - 22; 脊椎骨: 33 - 37. Differs from all species of Cynolebias by having the upper jaw ventrally displaced (Ref. 97357). Snout gently pointed with lower jaw not elongated; scaled anal-fin base; caudal and pectoral fins rounded (Ref. 40938).
