Eponymy: Dr Johann Andreas Marcusen (1817–1894) was a Latvian of German descent who was a physician, ichthyologist and zoologist. [...] Major George Evans Bruce (1867–1949) was a colonial administrator in Waziristan (now divided between Afghanistan and Pakistan) who made a small collection of fishes in southern Waziristan and presented it to the BMNH.
