Facultative air-breathing in the genus (Ref. 126274); Generally found in shallow gravel and cobble-laden headwater streams and braided rivers 350-800 m above sea level (Ref. 138146). Preys on invertebrates (Ref. 27776). Spawning occurs in spring from October to November (Ref. 138146). Eggs are laid amongst cobbles and gravels (Ref. 138146).
