Etymology: Hasemania:Because of John D. Haseman, the American collector of fishes (Ref. 45335); negodagua:From Nego D'áqua, a legendary, manlike creature from Central Brazil, said to dwell in the bottom of rivers and attack inattentive fishermen at night.
