Rückenflossenstacheln (insgesamt) : 7; Rückenflossenweichstrahlen (insgesamt) : 9; Afterflossenstacheln: 1; Afterflossenweichstrahlen: 10. First dorsal fin of males elongated. Ctenoid scales loosely arranged on anterior part of the body; naked on head, full nape to around first dorsal fin base, pectoral fin base, and entire belly. Coloration specific in male, body with a large transverse blotch of grayish violet in the middle; creamy yellow anteriorly, and shiny red orange posteriorly (Ref. 44834).
Body shape (shape guide): fusiform / normal.
Seems to prefer smaller drainages in clear hill streams (Ref. 44834).
