Dionda argentosa is genetically distinct but morphologically indistinguishable from Guadalupe roundnose minnow, D. nigrotaeniata (Ref. 86798).
Body shape (shape guide): elongated.
Adults inhabit rocky pools, sometimes runs, of headwaters, creeks, and small rivers. Found among filamentous algae (Ref. 86798). Migratory behaviour is undetermined (Ref. 126106).
