North America: Atlantic slope, endemic to the upper Verde River and the Laguna de la Media Luna systems of the Panuco River basin, San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
Storlek / Vikt / Ålder
Adults occur sympatrically with C. labridens. Inhabits rivers and lagoons. They eed on other smaller fishes, aquatic insects, algae and other invertebrates. They are omnivores, egg layers, and need plant and rock cover. They are not easy to raise in tanks (Ref. 6398).
