背面の脊椎 (合計) : 3; 背鰭 (合計) : 12 - 13; 肛門の骨: 1; 臀鰭: 8 - 10; 脊つい: 27 - 28. The species is distinguished by the following: spined posterior and lower margins of the praeoperculum, and in the angular part of the praeoperculum, an unspined notch; insertion of the ventral fins is slightly in front or at the level of the vertical of the posterior margin of the pectoral fin insertion; upper jaw extends to the vertical of the posterior eye margin; soft rays in the dorsal fin 12-13, in anal fin 8-10; first branchial arch with 28-32 rakers; vertebrae 27-28; pyloric caeca 7-8 (Ref. 83719).
Body shape (shape guide): fusiform / normal.
Specimens were seined using non-closing fishing gear, the largest depths of capture were 1650-0 m, and the smallest depths were 50-900 m (Ref. 83719).
