Vertèbres: 24. This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: head length 22.2-25.8 % SL, snout length 16.9-22.6 % HL, upper jaw length 61.8-67.3 % HL and snout length 27.3-34.4 % of upper jaw length; total gill rakers 6-12; scale rows below lateral line 15-18; vomerine tooth patch is rounded; tip of pectoral fin extending beyond the level of tip of appressed pelvic fin; lateral line steeply curved anteriorly; black spot distally on anterior dorsal fin absent (Ref. 129587).

This species is apparently pelagic, entering or living in the lower reaches of rivers (Ref. 129587).
